It is Christmas season, one of my favorite holidays. I love getting a fresh tree, decorating it, and smelling the beauty of it, every time I open the door. I love to see the houses full of beautiful lights at night, the excitement of little kids when they see the houses lit up and decorated with all the animation figures that are part of this wonderful holiday.
Unfortunately, we forget that this holiday season, it’s more about being grateful, loving, caring, and most of all giving love to those in need. There are so many people that don’t look forward to the holidays, they are alone, with no families, or it brings them sad memories about someone who is not with them anymore.
There are many different reasons that can cause sadness and can bring people down, feeling empty and anxious for this season to pass so they can feel normal again.
So let’s take a different approach and be kind to others, especially to those who don’t seem like they are enjoying life. Smiles don’t go up in price or down in value. I invite you to smile often and to everyone. Take a moment to write a gratitude list, start by being thankful for your beautiful body, which so many times we are ungrateful for. Because it doesn’t look the way we think it should, or it’s not “perfect.”
Our bodies carry us every day of our lives, our hands allow us to grab anything we need, our eyes to see what we call beauty, our mouths to taste the wonders of food, our beautiful legs and feet takes us everywhere, and we fail to look at them and say “THANK YOU.” Instead we criticize them for being too thin or to fat.
Be grateful for who you are. Once we learn this great secret, we will learn to be grateful for others and everything in our lives. The universe loves gratitude. Do this on a daily basis and I guarantee you your life will start to change.
